But if you want to travel the local way- (and pay the local price)! (Kind-Of). You’re best off going to the Krabi Bus Station yourself and cutting out the middleman.

Krabi bus station is located in a continent location just a few kilometers outside of Krabi town. And the bus connection to the town makes it an easy place to get to.

All the information here has been updated, to reflect the timetables- for everywhere you can go from Krabi after coronavirus shutdowns.

Dual ticket pricing is in place at Krabi Bus Station. Notice how none of the prices are listed on the signs, this is because foreigners are charged a higher price than Thai Citizens- for the same service.

How to Get to Krabi Bus Terminal

Krabi bus station is really easy to get to. The shuttle buses run non stop throughout the day. You’ll see the white songthaew shuttles driving around in Krabi Town and in Ao Nang. Just flag one down when it passes, hop in and the driver will take you to the bus station. The price is 60 Baht a person from Krabi Town and 80 Baht from Ao Nang. There is also an official bus stop outside the Riverview hotel.

Taking a taxi is an alternative option but you’ll have to haggle on the price with the driver. There is not a single taxi driver in Krabi who will switch on the meter for a tourist. The price could be anywhere from 100 – 600 Baht.

Facilities at Krabi Bus Station

Krabi Bus Terminal is pretty small but there are a few facilities on site. There are public toilets (and showers). 3 Baht to use the bathroom, 20 Baht to take a shower.

There are a few kiosk type vendors where you buy snacks, fruits, bottled waters, etc. Some vendors sell hot foods like fried chicken and sticky rice. There used to be a few actual restaurants at Krabi Bus Station but since the coronavirus pandemic they have all since closed down.

There is a Motorbike rental service at Krabi Bus Station- the cost is 300 Baht per day. You can reserve a scooter ahead of time by contacting the ‘One to Ten Coffee Shop’ on +66 81 978 6405.

There is no ATM at Krabi Station, and cash is the accepted payment method for bus tickets, so make sure to draw enough before traveling to the bus station.

Closest Hotels to Krabi Bus Station

If you’re arriving from a long bus ride like from Bangkok to Krabi for example, or if you’re planning to catch a bus early in the morning you’ll probably want to stay in a hotel close by to Krabi Bus Station.

These three hotels are all located within walking distance of Krabi Bus Terminal:

1) Tairada Boutique Hotel

This is the best value for money near to Krabi Bus Terminal. A clean and modern hotel with a three star rating. The price ranges from 400 – 800 Baht for a double room with air-con. It’s 1.9 Kilometers from Krabi Bus Station, a 15 Minute walk or a 3 minute ride.

Krabi Bus Terminal to Ao Nang Beach / Town / Airport

Ao Nang Beach is one of the easiest destinations to get to from Krabi Bus Terminal. The white Songthaew leaves as soon as the seats are full, which is usually every 10 – 15 minutes.

It costs 80 Baht per person and there is no advance booking available. You pay direct to the driver and the cost is about 80 THB. The ride takes roughly 45 minutes and you can get out the bus anywhere along the beach road by ringing the stop button. The white local bus or ‘Songthaew’ also stops at Krabi Airport and at Krabi Town.

This White Local Bus shuttles between Krabi Bus Terminal, Krabi Airport, Krabi Town Center and Ao Nang Beach.

Krabi Bus Terminal to Khao Sok

The service from Krabi Bus Station to Khao Sok is by minivan and goes directly to the National Park. There are accommodation options within the National Park and if you have pre-booked a hotel in Khao Sok the driver will take you directly there. The journey takes around 3 hours and there will usually be a stop off at a service area half way.

Here is where: You can book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Khao Sok.

Or you can buy a ticket at Krabi Bus Station. The price is 450 Baht and the mini bus leaves every 2 hours or as soon as it’s full.

Krabi Bus Terminal to Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is one of the most popular destinations served from the Krabi Bus Terminal. The minibuses depart on the hour, every hour. It takes around two hours to get from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Lanta and the minibus drops you off at your hotel on the island. It can be another 60 minutes after arriving in Koh Lanta depending on the location of your hotel.

There is a bridge which connects mainland ‘Small Koh Lanta’ to ‘Big Koh Lanta’ and the bus will use the car ferry to get to the island from Krabi mainland. The ferry price is included with the bus ticket and the ferry takes no more than 10 minutes.

Here is where: You can book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Lanta Island

Or you can buy your tickets in person at the Krabi Bus Terminal. This is one of the bus routes that I am aware of ‘dual pricing’. Tickets should cost 180 Baht, but tourists are charged a higher price- 300 – 350 Baht. It’s rare that you’ll be sold a ticket for the correct price unless you are Thai.

Krabi Bus Terminal to Phuket

There are non stop bus services to Phuket from Krabi Station. There are both air-con busses and minivans. It’s one of the most popular routes from Krabi Bus Terminal. A ticket costs 300 Baht (I think the local rate is lower).

The bus will arrive at Phuket Bus Station and there is a connection from there to Phuket Airport. The taxi costs in Phuket are around 20 times more expensive than in Bangkok.

Here is where: You can book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Lanta Island

Krabi Bus Terminal to Hat Yai

There are busses from Krabi Bus Station to Had Yai every 60 minutes with the first bus leaving at 7.00 am and the last bus leaving at 5.00 pm. The bus will arrive at Hat Yai bus Terminal and it takes around 4 Hours.

Krabi Bus Terminal to Koh Samui / Phangan / Tao

Tickets to get to the islands in the gulf of Thailand should be booked in advance when possible. These services fill up quickly and there are only two busses running each day. The busses leaves at 6.00am and at 9.00am. This is so that the bus can make the connection with the ferry.

It is a combination ticket including a bus to Suratthanni Pier and then a ferry to either Koh Samui, Phangan or Tao. The bus will come on the ferry to Samui and hotel drop off is included. For Koh Phangan and Koh Tao you can arrange a hotel transfer at the pier on arrival. The cost is about 100 Baht per person.

  • Book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Suratthanni Pier
  • Book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Samui
  • Book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Phangan
  • Book tickets from Krabi Bus Station to Koh Tao

Krabi Bus Terminal to Trang

The bus runs between Krabi Bus Terminal and Trang Bus Terminal every two hours. The tickets cost 180 Baht a person. There is no option to reserve tickets for this route in advance. You need to buy it directly at the bus station.

There are limited transport connections when you arrive at Trang Bus Terminal. There will be motorcycle taxi drivers hanging around and the occasional ‘Frog Tuk Tuk’. The rate for the Frog Tuk Tuk is around 50 Baht a person and the motorbike is around 30 Baht- depending on your hotel’s location.

BackPackBOB

Hi I’m Robb. But you can call me Backpack Bob. Welcome to my site. I started this travel blog in March 2020. Literally the worst time to be travelling. Haha. But the pandemic didn’t stop me. I managed to visit 5 countries during lockdowns, (sorry, not sorry), and I kept on writing. I’ve done a lot in my 27 years on this earth. My life has been a crazy ride. People often tell me I should write a book about it. I’m banned from two countries. I’ve worked in four continents. I started my own business in Thailand at 21. And I left on my first international solo adventure at 19, with less than $100. I’ll share the reality about travel and living overseas, without the drama. The highs, the lows and why and travel is so import, incredible and unique in a world after the coronavirus. I hope that I can inspire others to travel with an open mind and live your life to its full potential. Peace and Love. ✌️
