“How do you travel from Koh Lanta to Khao Sok in Thailand”.

I recently found a thread on Reddit where a user was trying to find answers to this exact question. But the responses on the thread were a clusterfuck of misinformation.

Which inspired me to write this post to get the up-to-date information out there. Because traveling between these two awesome places is not as difficult, as it seems. There is just a lack of information online.

  • The cost is the same for a private minivan or private car. The cost can be split between those traveling meaning for a large group the cost per person is similar to taking the bus.
  • Much more comfortable- the public busses often lack space because the footwells are used for luggage storage.
  • Get picked up from your hotel in Koh Lanta, get dropped off at your hotel in Khao Sok.

There are two licensed taxi firms who operate this route: Bangkok Taxi 24 (Book) and Andaman Taxis (Book).

Hi, Im Robb. And I live on holiday. Welcome to 'Backpack Bob. No, I didn’t quit my job and sell everything to travel the world. I initially funded all my travels by working abroad. But that doesn’t mean I’m here to save you money, or to help you travel smarter. I just enjoy writing about the places I’ve been. It’s more of a memoir for myself, to look back on in the future. But if you find my guides useful, then you are very welcome here. My journey started in 2016 when I decided not to return from a one-month vacation. And when the lockdowns happened in 2020. I found myself stranded in Thailand, (where I now live for six months of the year). I used that time to finally start this blog and share my stories. People have often told me I should write a book about my adventures, so this is the next best thing. For the love, not the money.
